Banner University Medical Center Phoenix executive named to Trellis board of directors

PHOENIX – Christine McSweeney, chief operating officer at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, has been named to the board of directors at Phoenix nonprofit, Trellis. 
Trellis, established in 1975, provides home ownership counseling, financial access and neighborhood development and is dedicated to “making stables homes and communities possible through educating, building and lending.”  

McSweeney has a long and successful career at Banner Health. She has served as a culinary and nutrition director in the Banner Health system as well as in prominent administrator roles at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center and at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. 

“Trellis serves a vital role in our community and I’m pleased to be joining their board of directors,” said McSweeney. “Access to affordable housing is critical for a rich and diverse community and Trellis continues to ensure this dream remains achievable for everyone in our state.” 

Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix is a large teaching hospital that has provided medical care to Arizona and the Southwest since 1911. It is part of Banner – University Medicine. The hospital specializes in heart care, cancer care, high-risk obstetrics, neurosciences and stroke care, organ transplants and Emergency care, including a Level 1 trauma center. Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix is part of Banner Health, a nonprofit health care system with 29 hospitals in seven states. The institution, which has trained thousands of doctors over decades as a teaching hospital with Graduate Medical Education programs, is now the academic medical center for the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.

Trellis (formerly Neighborhood Housing Services of Phoenix) is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 1975, Trellis has made stable homes possible. The organization provides home ownership counseling, financial access and neighborhood development.
