Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix Recognized Nationally for Neurosurgery & Spine Program Excellence

PHOENIX – Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix (BUMCP) has been recognized nationally for excellence in neurosurgery and spine care, according to CareChex, a clinical and patient satisfaction rating organization providing analysis of care processes, outcomes and patient experiences. 

CareChex ranked BUMCP as the No. 19 hospital in the nation for major neurological surgery for 2017. The rating was highlighted recently in Becker’s Hospital Review, a national health care trade publication providing analysis and updates for hospitals and health systems around the U.S. 

In addition, BUMCP was recognized by Healthgrades for excellence in stroke care in 2015 and 2016. Consumers utilize Healthgrades to research, compare and connect with physicians and other health care professionals.

Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix is a large teaching hospital that has provided medical care to Arizona and the Southwest since 1911. It is part of Banner – University Medicine. The hospital specializes in heart care, cancer care, high-risk obstetrics, neurosciences and stroke care, organ transplants and Emergency care, including a Level 1 trauma center. Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix is part of Banner Health, a nonprofit health care system with 28 hospitals in six states. The institution, which has trained thousands of doctors over decades as a teaching hospital with Graduate Medical Education programs, is now the academic medical center for the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.
