New physician assistant joins Banner Health Clinic in Brush and Fort Morgan

BRUSH, Colo. — Primary care services are expanding with a new physician assistant joining Banner Health Clinic in Brush and Fort Morgan. Zach Stringham, PA-C, starts today and will focus on family medicine and providing basic health care needs to Morgan County families.

For the first six months, Stringham, a recent graduate from Red Rocks Physician Assistant Program in Lakewood, Colo., will work alongside Anne Gallion, MD, at Banner Health Clinic in Brush. After he has completed training required for new graduate physician assistants, he will accept new patients in Brush and Fort Morgan.

Stringham received his bachelor's degree in biology from Idaho State University, then received his master’s degree from St. Francis University in Medical Science while attending physician assistant school in Colorado.

Prior to the start of his physician assistant training, Stringham lived and worked in a remote Alaskan village near the island of Kodiak where he was the sole medical provider. There, he provided all levels of medical care to the small population of Aluttiq people.

Afterhours he enjoyed fishing the rich waters of Alaska and spending time exploring the “last frontier” with his young family. It was during his years in Alaska that he developed a love and deep respect for medicine, Stringham explains. He now wishes to practice medicine in rural Colorado and call Morgan County home.

“I most look forward to growing that patient/provider relationship and raising my family in a small community, similar to what I grew up in,” said Stringham. “There is a shortage of family medicine in rural communities and I’m excited at the opportunity to give back and play a part in people’s wellbeing.”
