Uber’s ‘Pink View’ helps riders support cancer care

PHOENIX – In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Arizonans can help support cancer treatment by taking a ride with Uber anytime Monday, Oct. 24 through Monday, Oct. 31.

Uber users just need to use the “Pink View” option of the app before hailing a ride, and Uber will donate $1 to the non-profit Banner Health Foundation. Funds will benefit Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center services. The promotion is valid throughout the state.

“The funds raised through this promotion with Uber will make a big difference to many people receiving cancer treatment,” said Andy Kramer Petersen, president and CEO, Banner Health Foundation. “All donations will directly support programs and services for patients at Banner MD Anderson.”

“We are so pleased to partner with Banner Health Foundation in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” said Steve Thompson, Uber Arizona general manager. “Uber’s ‘Pink View’ provides riders with the opportunity to join us in supporting cancer care and those who are receiving treatment throughout Arizona."

Also, anyone who downloads the Uber app now through Dec. 31 and uses the new user promo code, GIVEHOPE, will receive their first ride with Uber for free (up to $15); an additional $10 will go back to Banner Health Foundation to support Banner MD Anderson. This code is not exclusive to Arizona, and can be used in any market where Uber is available.
