BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED FOR LUZERNE COUNTY

Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Pennsylvania American Water Customers in Hanover Township, Sugar Notch Borough and Warrior Run Borough

SCRANTON, Pa. (March 30, 2026) – Pennsylvania American Water announced this morning that the boil water advisory for customers in Hanover Township, Sugar Notch Borough and Warrior Run Borough has been lifted. Customers were notified on March 27, 2026, of a water main break that caused a loss of positive water pressure in the system which is supplied by a storage tank, resulting in the issuance of the boil water advisory. We are pleased to report that the issue has been resolved.

This notice applies to 2,315 customer connections in Pennsylvania American Water’s Ceasetown system in the following locations:

Hanover Township

  • Main Street
  • Hanover Street
  • New Commerce Boulevard
  • Lasley Avenue
  • Stewart Road
  • Robinson Circle
  • South Main Street
  • Tanya Drive
  • Clarks Cross Road

Sugar Notch Borough

  • Main Street
  • Broadhead Avenue
  • Woodland Road
  • Brook Street
  • Freed Street
  • Oak Street
  • Chestnut Street

Warrior Run Borough

  • Front Street
  • Orchard Street
  • Academy Street
  • Hanover Street
  • Jones Street
  • Chestnut Street
  • Beaumont Street
  • Slope Street

Acceptable test results were obtained from samples collected on March 28, 2026 and March 29, 2026, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has authorized lifting the advisory.
