ATLANTA, Nov. 1 2023 – Ameris Bank is proud to announce its sponsorship of Callanwolde Fine Arts Center’s Art Scholars program. The bank’s $25,000 grant provides a full day of enriching activities and meals for local students attending Title I schools on select days that schools close for holidays and teacher workdays, helping parents who would otherwise need to arrange childcare. Students take part in clay modelling, painting and drawing, creative movement and more.

Ameris will sponsor the next Art Scholars program on November 7 at Callanwolde for students who attend a Dekalb County elementary school, which will be closed for Veterans Day.

Ameris Bank became the program’s first sponsor in 2022. In addition to funds, the bank supplies tote bags, coloring books and art supplies for students. The company’s lion mascot “Courageous” also makes an appearance to spend time with the children.

Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is a nonprofit community arts center that offers classes and workshops for all ages in visual, literacy, and performing arts. The organization has a mission to provide the Atlanta community with premier accessible arts education, especially to the underserved.
