11 Years of Fighting Hunger! Ameris Bank Kicks-Off 11th Annual Helping Fight Hunger Initiative
Sep 29, 2020

Hunger and food insecurities are serious problems affecting millions of Americans each year. Ameris Bank is honored to help in the fight against hunger throughout our footprint during our Helping Fight Hunger campaign.

We recognize and understand that our communities, customers and employees are all affected by these unprecedented times in different ways. We also know that during this vulnerable time food shortage is at an all-time high, and so many are in need. Due to COVID-19, this project is more important than ever as food insecurity is up by 60%, according to Feeding America. While this year’s campaign may look a little different to observe social distancing practices, our focus will remain the same: to collect as many nonperishable food items as possible, during the month of October, to help our communities when they need it the most.

A food bank in every town with an Ameris Bank location will receive the donation of goods collected at the local Ameris Bank office. Since the inception of Ameris Bank’s Helping Fight Hunger initiative in 2010, Ameris Bank has made a significant impact in the fight against hunger, collecting nearly 9 million food items. Additionally, more than $900,000 has been donated to over 139 partner food bank organizations throughout 135 communities in the Southeast.

Ameris Bank strongly believes in being active participants in our communities and in the power of giving back. A collection box will be located at Ameris Bank locations where customers, employees and community members can participate by dropping off nonperishable food items during the month of October.

How can you help? Donate! Individuals, businesses, organizations and schools can all help in collecting donations for the fight against hunger.

Drop off your nonperishable food items at your local Ameris Bank branch to donate or visit amerisbank.com/HelpFightHunger for more information.
