TORONTO, Oct. 4 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada is pleased to announce the six finalists of the fourth annual Air Canada enRoute Film Festival. Categories include Best Short Film, Achievement in Animation, Achievement in Direction, and Achievement in Cinematography. The Air Canada enRoute Film Festival celebrates young emerging Canadian film talent from across the country by showcasing their work on Air Canada flights.
Millions of Air Canada passengers around the world will be able to view the selected short films on their personal entertainment system with 8.9-inch wide digital in-seat monitors and touch-screen controls offering hours of audio and video on demand programming at every seat.
The winner of the Best Short Film Award will receive a cash prize of $5,000 courtesy of Cineplex Entertainment, plus an all-inclusive Air Canada trip for two to the Whistler Film Festival. Achievement Award winners will also visit Whistler courtesy of Air Canada.

Jury members expected to attend the awards celebration include actors Sheila McCarthy and Carlo Rota, actor/directors Alan Cumming and Jason Priestly, and directors Kari Skogland, Jeremy Podeswa and Denis Villeneuve.
The FREE public screening of the nominated short films will take place on Wednesday, October 13 in Cinema 13 at Scotiabank Theatre (259 Richmond Street West) from 7 to 8 p.m. An exclusive awards celebration hosted by The Drake Hotel will follow.
