AARP Testifies About Retirement System Challenges at Senate Committee on Finance

WASHINGTONToday Joan Ruff, AARP board chair, testified on Capitol Hill before the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance hearing, “Challenges in the Retirement System.”

Below is an excerpt of her prepared testimony:

"Social Security is clearly the cornerstone of American financial security in retirement. It is extremely important to AARP’s members that it will provide adequate benefits not only for them, but also for their children and grandchildren."
