USGA Trophies

The Glenna Collett Vare Trophy

U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship

Presented annually by the USGA since 1949

The U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship was established in 1949, one year after the U.S. Junior Amateur. Not only  has  this  championship  helped  launch the competitive careers of some of the game’s greatest players, it has also advanced the spirit of the game through inspiring young women to play golf at all levels. The lidded, twin-handled sterling silver trophy was produced by

J.E. Caldwell and Co., and donated by Glenna Collett Vare in 1949. Vare was one of golf’s greatest amateur players, winning a record six U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships between 1922 and 1935.
