USGA Trophies
U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship Trophy
Presented annually by the USGA since 1962
The founding of the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur in 1962 fulfills and illustrates the USGA’s belief that golf is truly a game for a lifetime. The sterling silver trophy with its distinctive handles was purchased in 1962 by the Friends of Senior Golf and the USGA to serve as the perennial trophy for the championship. Although there are no discernible hallmarks, USGA records indicate that the large scroll-handled U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Trophy was produced in Dublin, Ireland in 1897.
