The USGA was founded in New York City as an organization of member clubs whose purpose was to conduct our country’s national championships and to govern the game.  Today, we are a vibrant 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated  - in all we do – to give back to the game we all love. 

The USGA promotes and conserves the true spirit of the game of golf as embodied in its ancient and honorable traditions. It acts in the best interests of the game for the continued enjoyment of those who love and play it.
