Paultons Park, Home Of Peppa Pig World Named Europe’s Sixth Best Rated Amusement Park
Hampshire amusement park also named among world’s top 25, according to millions of traveller reviews and opinions

Paultons Park, Home of Peppa Pig World has today been named as the sixth best-rated amusement park in Europein the Travellers’ Choice TM awards for Amusement Parks, announced by TripAdvisor, the travel planning and booking site.

The Hampshire amusement park boasts such attractions as Lost Kingdom, its brand new dinosaur theme park world set within four acres of Jurassic landscape with a whole host of dinosaur themed rides including two family rollercoasters: Flight of the Pterosaur and Velociraptor. Ranking ahead of famous Walt Disney Studios Park, Paris in the Europe list, Paultons Park, Home of Peppa Pig World is also named 22nd in the world and takes the coveted titled of number one amusement park in the UK. Entry to the park for a family of four costs £99 and for those wanting to stay overnight, a nearby hotel is bookable on TripAdvisor for an average of £101 during the summer months.

Travellers’ Choice awards honour top travel spots worldwide based on the millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travellers. Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for amusement parks worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period.

“For parents planning family outings during the upcoming school holiday, this list should offer up plenty of inspiration. With admission prices for a family of four at just £51 and TripAdvisor hotel room rates bookable for £98, it’s the UK’s 8th -ranked GreenWood Forest Park, Y Felinheli that offers the best value this summer at £149 in total,” commented TripAdvisor spokesperson, Hayley Coleman.

UK boasts more winning parks than elsewhere in Europe

It is not just Hampshire that has cause to celebrate this year; it is revealed that the UK is home to more 2016 award-winning amusement parks than any other European country, with six winning parks named in Europe’s top 25. Paultons Park, Home of Peppa Pig World in Romsey, Hampshire, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Lancashire, Alton Towers in Hampshire, Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, Brighton Pier, East Sussex and Drayton Manor in Tamworth Staffordshire come in sixth, ninth, eleventh, 17th, 20th and 22nd respectively.

South riding high with more winning parks than rest of UK

Within the UK, it is the South that comes up trumps, taking home more TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for Amusement Parks than anywhere else in the country – five in total. Paultons Park, Home of Peppa Pig World, Alton Towers, Brighton Pier, The Milky Way Adventure Park in Clovelly, Devon and Legoland Windsor Resort, Berkshire take first, third, fifth, seventh and ninth place in the UK respectively.

Orlando home to world number one

Taking the crown for world’s best-rated amusement park is Universal's Islands of Adventure, Orlando, Florida in the United States. The park’s main attraction is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, a motion-based dark ride within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter themed areas. Visitors take a tour through Hogwarts and then get to experience the chaos of Harry’s life via a flight simulator style ride. Travellers’ can book tickets to the park on TripAdvisor from £184 per person, which also includes entry to Universal Studios Florida and Wet ‘n Wild, allowing visitors to come and go as much as they please over 14 consecutive days.

In addition to announcing the UK’s best rated amusement parks, TripAdvisor can also reveal the cost of visiting each park for a family of four1, including the average nightly rate for a stay in a nearby hotel during the summer months of July, August and September2:
