Life Time Fitness, Inc. (NYSE: LTM), The Healthy Way of Life Company, today announced the expansion of the internationally-renowned Leadville Race Series to include six Leadville Trail 100 MTB qualifying events in 2012. Registration is now open for the qualifiers on December 19, 2011, which provide the opportunity to participate in the Leadville Trail 100 MTB either based on race performance or lottery draw for all finishers at the events.
With events that begin in April and conclude in September, mountain bikers from around the world will have the opportunity to ride in some of America’s best venues—from the Adirondacks, to the Sierra Nevadas, to the Rocky Mountains—while striving for an opportunity to be a part of the Leadville Trail 100 MTB.
In 2012 the Leadville Trail 100 MTB qualifying events include:
- Austin Rattler 100, Austin, Tex. – April 21
- Barn Burner 104, Flagstaff, Ari. – June 2
- Wilmington Whiteface 100, Wilmington, NY – June 17
- Silver Rush 50, Leadville, Colo. – July 14
- Tahoe Trail 100, Tahoe, Calif. – July 22
- Alpine Odyssey 100, Crested Butte, Colo. – September 15
Each race will provide 70-100 qualifying slots to the Leadville Trail 100 MTB, the most well-known and prestigious mountain bike race in North America that has seen legendary cyclists, Lance Armstrong, Levi Leipheimer and Rebecca Rusch at its start line. Set in the mining town of Leadville, Colo., two hours west of Denver, the ultra-distance event features 12,612 feet of climbing on one of the world’s most challenging single and double-track-style course.
