June 10 Deadline For Leadville Race Series Events, Limited Spots Remain

LEADVILLE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 10 marks the cutoff for several Leadville Race Series events. While the iconic Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race and Leadville Trail 100-Mile Run have long since filled, athletes seeking a taste of the alluring and unique Leadville experience must register by June 10 for the remaining spots of:

  • Leadville Trail 100 Run Training Camp, June 25 - 27
  • Leadville Trail Marathon, July 2, 2011
  • Leadville Trail Heavy Half Marathon, July 2, 2011
  • Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Training Camp, July 7 - 10
  • Leadville Silver Rush 50-Mile Mountain Bike Race, July 16, 2011
  • Leadville Silver Rush 50-Mile Trail Run Race, July 17, 2011

Limited spaces remain for each event.

The training camps are open to all runners and mountain bikers and are great introductions to the Leadville Trail 100 events. These camps will provide a great deal of education from many seasoned vets as first-time and experienced participants cover the Leadville Trail 100 Run and Mountain Bike courses over a three-day period. Best of all, these camps are great training grounds for any ultra-distance runs and mountain bikes rides. Registration for the Leadville races are not required to participate in the camps.

In addition to the training camps, athletes who want to prepare for the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race and the Leadville Trail 100-Mile Run are encouraged to sign up for the Leadville Trail marathon and Silver Rush events to aid in their preparations for the iconic 100’s.

The Leadville event experience is like no other. Nestled in the majestic Rocky Mountains, Leadville, Colo. was once the home of prospectors looking to strike it rich. Today, the historic town comes alive with athletes looking to earn a medal of their own or head home humbled. Participants travel through the historic mining district's challenging old mining roads and trails and altitudes at up to more than 13,000 feet. Racers connect with nature as they trek through pine and aspen forests and run up and down mountains with summits that disappear into the clouds.
