Janus To Sponsor The 2011 Life Time Triathlon Series
Sponsorship includes unique program to help triathletes raise money for charity
"We’re thrilled to continue the Janus Charity Challenge through this sponsorship which allows us to help triathletes not only raise money for charity, but add more personal meaning to their race."

CHANHASSEN, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Life Time Fitness (NYSE: LTM) today announced that Janus has signed on as a sponsor of the 2011 Life Time Triathlon Series, the oldest and most prominent series of international-distance triathlon events in the United States. The main event of the Life Time Series is the premier Race to the Toyota Cup, which challenges the world’s top professional triathletes to battle for points and a chance to win the coveted Toyota Cup. The 2011 Series consists of seven events, including stops in Miami, Austin, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas.

“Janus is a clear leader in using its financial business platform to support the greater community and the sport of triathlon,” said Kenneth Cooper, vice president of Endurance and Athletic Events for Life Time. “We are excited to join forces with the power of Janus as we jointly focus on improving lives via triathlon, fundraising and the financial executive challenge.”

A highlight of Janus’ sponsorship is the Janus Charity Challenge, the firm's signature national giving initiative, which for 10 years has inspired thousands of people—athletes and non-athletes—to meet the needs of their own communities. The Janus Charity Challenge has helped raise more than $48 million for hundreds of charities—each one hand-picked by athletes inspired to turn their passion for triathlon into a passion for their favorite charitable cause.

“As a global asset manager with a passion for achieving great results, Janus supports those who possess the same competitive drive and spirit that we do. It is this spirit that leads us to sponsor the Life Time Triathlon Series,” said Casey Cortese, vice president of Sponsorships & Community Relations at Janus. “We’re thrilled to continue the Janus Charity Challenge through this sponsorship which allows us to help triathletes not only raise money for charity, but add more personal meaning to their race.”
