CHANHASSEN, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Life Time Fitness, Inc. (NYSE: LTM) today announced that eight elite USA athletes, including two national champions, will join a field of more than 5,000 participants for the 2010 Life Time Fitness Torchlight 5K in Downtown Minneapolis on July 21.
Included among the field of elite athletes are Katie McGregor, 2010 USA 15K Champion and 2010 USA 25K Champion, and Antonio Vega, 2010 USA Half Marathon Champion. Additional representatives from Team USA Minnesota participating in the Torchlight 5K include:

- Matt Gabrielson
- Jason Lehmkuhle
- Josh Moen
- Kristen Nicolini
The Torchlight 5K, which was recently featured by Runner’s World as the July “Race of the Month,” kicks of the Minneapolis Aquatennial Torchlight Parade. An exclusive post-race party follows at the Nicollet Island Pavilion and includes live music from local band, Root City, prizes and refreshments for race participants.
The Life Time Fitness Foundation will be collecting non-perishable food donations prior to the race. All donations benefit Second Harvest Heartland. A portion of the proceeds from each race registration will be donated to Second Harvest Heartland and the Life Time Fitness Foundation.
Registration is still available at several running specialty stores, including Twin Cities Running Company (Eden Prairie), Start Line (Minnetonka), Runner’s Gate (Lakeville), and Right Fit Running (Mounds View). Race entry is also available online atwww.torchlight5k.com or on race day at the Basilica parking lot (88 North 17th Street, Minneapolis).
