We Focus on Empowering Our People, Improving Our Communities and Sustaining Our Planet.

Our journey began with a bold idea: bring TV to Small Town America. This adventure has driven us to connect millions of Americans to the TV they love. We have an exciting future ahead, bringing our disruptive ingenuity to build a nationwide wireless network with massive opportunities to profoundly impact local communities and our planet.

DISH is committed to continuously evolving our corporate citizenship efforts as our business expands. Anchored in our three pillars (Our People, Our Communities, Our Planet), DISH Cares is a pivotal extension of who we are at DISH.

Our Communities

Supporting Our Troops

At DISH, we are committed to supporting active military, veterans and their families.

Homes For Our Troops

DISH is a proud supporter of Homes For Our Troops, an organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans. Their program empowers veterans to rebuild their lives by providing them with adapted homes, enabling them to regain their independence. In addition to our financial support, our partnership includes donated TV service, smart home products and OnTech smart home installation services to further customize their homes to meet the everyday needs of veterans and their families.

Small Businesses Giving Back

Our nationwide network of DISH authorized retailers brings DISH Cares to life in local communities.

DISH Cares Ambassador of the Year

We are proud to honor DISH authorized retailer, Today’s Satellite, with our annual DISH Cares Ambassador of the Year Award. The Today’s Satellite team supports the needs of communities across Puerto Rico through hosting classes at Boys & Girls Clubs, providing maintenance at shelters for families experiencing domestic violence and even teaching business classes at local high schools.

Delivering Wireless and Satellite Connectivity to aid in Disaster Recovery

Our team works to provide first responders with critical telecommunications support to aid in disaster recovery efforts. Together with Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC), DISH has delivered nearly 525,000 hours of satellite broadband and television services to fire stations, survivor shelters, city command centers, volunteer hubs and more since 2015. DISH Cares is also there for customers when they need connectivity the most, delivering wireless services in the wake of declared emergencies.

Here Are a Few Examples of How DISH Helps During Disasters

DISH Wireless will make banks of mobile phones available for temporary use at designated emergency shelters, both directly and through response organizations and partners like ITDRC.

DISH Wireless will work in good faith to assist in billing issues for any self-declared customer impacted by a disaster.

DISH partners with organizations such as the Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (“ITDRC”) to assist in deployments to emergency areas and shelters.

DISH monitors state offices of emergency services to achieve optimal awareness. Consumers can also sign up for notices, such as those provided by the California Office of Emergency Services, or CALOES.

Our Planet

Reducing Paper Waste

Our annual customer e-bill campaign helps us reduce our paper usage while planting more trees.

Planting Trees in the Sierra National Forest

In an effort to reduce waste and protect our environment, DISH Cares launched a campaign encouraging our customers to switch from paper to electronic billing. Together with our nonprofit partner, we planted over 13,000 trees in the Sierra National Forest.

Recycle and Reuse

DISH continuously evaluates our impact on the environment and integrates unique products and processes to reduce our footprint.

Equipment Refurbishment

In addition to diverting nearly 3,000 tons of waste to recycling each year, DISH also refurbishes over 5 million receivers, broadband hardware and accessories annually to ensure we reuse materials whenever possible. Our technicians are equipped with reusable packaging materials, reusable boot covers and digital forms to further minimize our impact on the environment.

Environmental Stewardship

Colorado Environmental Leadership Program

The Colorado Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) names DISH as an honored member. The ELP is a statewide recognition and reward program that recognizes companies that go beyond state and federal regulations and are committed to continual environmental improvement.

Our People

Career Development

Opportunity is our most valuable benefit at DISH. We provide an environment for every employee to realize their full potential.

Leadership Education and Development (LEAD)

DISH not only provides programs to help our team members excel in their current roles, but we also give employees the resources to reach beyond their existing responsibilities through promotions, challenging work assignments, exposure to new thinking and technology and opportunities to transfer to new teams. In 2019 alone, DISH provided over 25,000 hours of training through our LEAD training programs.

Diversity and Inclusion

At DISH, we know we are better because of the unique perspectives and diversity each team member brings.

COLLECTIVE

DISH encourages people on our team to bring their whole selves to work. COLLECTIVE is a platform for our employee-led diversity networks and interest groups that includes our African American Network, Out at DISH, DISH Women’s Network, Adelante, Empowered Parents Network and our Veterans Resource Group. These and other groups empower employees to learn about different backgrounds and support one another in professional and personal growth as we shape the future of TV and wireless – together.
