Cigna Takes Further Action to Support Clients During COVID-19
By

Cigna continues to take meaningful steps to drive value for clients, provide expanded care and ease the financial impact to customers associated with testing and treatment during COVID-19. As an expansion of the measures already taken, Cigna is offering financial relief to its guaranteed cost (GC) group clients.

“Our steadfast focus on supporting customers and clients continues to drive Cigna’s actions to ease the financial, physical and emotional stress associated with COVID-19,” said Mike Triplett, President of Cigna's U.S. Commercial business. “We remain deeply committed to our clients, partnering with them every day during this unprecedented time.”

For non-HMO, GC group medical clients, Cigna will apply an experience credit to the April 2021 bill of at least 10% of the average monthly premium during the 2020 calendar year for guaranteed cost clients who were effective between May 2019 and April 30, 2020 and who are still active with Cigna as of April 2021.* The program will allow eligible clients to participate in the reduced claim cost that has occurred in 2020 as a result of the pandemic.

In addition to this measure, Cigna previously announced that it is providing a one-month premium credit to group dental policyholders that have active group dental policies in May 2020.

This extended relief builds on the robust actions already taken to deliver peace of mind for those we serve and underscores Cigna’s commitment to delivering access to affordable, predictable and simple healthcare during this unprecedented time.
